Lisa Aschen, Program Teacher

Lisa teaches families for the Even Start program and the Community Family Learning Center teaching music, creative movement, crafting, story time and play. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the College of New Jersey in 2000, Lisa taught general music and band in public and parochial schools and in an after school/summer camp program. Paula Gajewski, Community Learning Coordinator

Paula is an Early Childhood Literacy Specialist, Family Educator, and Coordinator of the Community Family Learning Center for the Torrington Public Schools. Paula works with families, teachers and community businesses and agencies to build relationships to support family learning. She is an active member of the Torrington Early Childhood Collaborative, coordinates community and school based events, co-authors grants for funding, and coordinates all Community Family Learning Center library and family programing events. Cynthia Gajewski, Library Media Specialist

Cynthia manages the Community Family Learning Center’s library media collection, researches and orders new materials, and catalogs incoming material.  Cynthia also supports the CFLC’s promotion to the community.

Jenny Garcia, Parent Educator

Jenny is a Parent Educator for the Even Start adult education program through the Torrington Public Schools. Jenny works with families, teachers, and community organizations that support education of young children through programs and projects. She has previously worked at Family Strides in Torrington and is currently taking courses in early childhood education at Northwest Connecticut Community College. Claudia Ocasio, Parent Educator

Claudia is a Parent Educator for the Preschool Development Program located at East school where she supports preschool children and families. Claudia also supports Community Family Learning Center programs and projects through her work with the preschool families. She has previously worked as a Parent Educator for the Even Start program and has won an award for parent volunteer of the year for the city of Torrington. Christine Rosa, Marketing Coordinator and Library Support

Christine is responsible for the marketing of the Community Family Learning Center, the CFLC website, and social media postings. She also assists with lesson planning and promotion to the community.
